특히 9일과 12일 이틀 동안 도의회사무처 직원 50여 명은 포항 동해면․대송면 일원 및 경주 건천읍․ 내남면 일원 태풍피해지역을 찾아 연휴도 반납한 체, 피해지역의 신속한 복구에 힘을 더해 훈훈함을 더해 주고 있다. 

경북도의회는 태풍이 올라오기 이전인 지난 4일 비상연석회의를 개최해 태풍대비상황을 점검하고, 7일에는 태풍의 직접영향으로 큰 피해를  입은 포항과 경주 등 동해안 및 남부권 지역에 신속한 피해복구를 위한 선제적 대응 및 중앙정부에 특별재난지역선포 건의를 경북도에 요청했다. 그리고 피해지역에 대한 위문품 지원 및 4일간 200여명의 복구인력 지원 등 신속하고 지속적인 대응을 펼쳐왔다. 

이날 피해복구 지원을 나온 의회사무처 직원을 격려하고자 현장을 찾은 배한철 경상북도의회 의장은“매번 재난․재해 현장에 누구보다 우선해서 달려와 주는 여러분들의 진심이 피해 주민들에게는 큰 격려가 될 것”이라며 “특히 연휴 기간임에도 피해현장을 찾아 복구지원에 힘쓰고 있는 공무원분들께 의회사무처를 대표해 진심으로 감사의 마음을 전한다.”고 밝혔다.
