【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자=대구 서구는 ‘2022년도 도시환경개선 업무 평가’에서2년 연속 최우수 기관으로 선정됐다고 6일 밝혔다.

이번평가는 도시환경개선 업무체계, 광고물 정비, 경관개선사업, 야간경관개선 추진실적, 기타 가산점 관련 등 5개 분야의 실적을 평가했다. 

서구는 이번 평가에서 기존의 삭막했던 서대구역사 주변 도로를 따뜻하고 밝은 이미지로 개선하고 원대동 비원뮤직홀 주변 경관정비로 쾌적한 도시공간을 조성하였으며, 코로나19로 침체된 골목상권을 활성화하기 위하여 퀸스로드·중리동 곱창골목에 야간 경관 조명을 설치하여 상인들 및 방문객들의 만족도를 높인 점 등으로 높은 평가를 받았다. 

또 어린이 통학로 및 주변 환경을 다양한 디자인을 통해 주민친화형 공간으로 개선하고, 유동인구가 증가하는 지역의 주민들과 방문객들에게 쾌적한 도시환경을 조성했다.

류한국 서구청장은 “서구의 노후화된 지역을 깨끗하고 밝게 정비하여 눈과 마음이 즐거워지는 거리로 탈바꿈하고 있다.”며 “앞으로도 도시경관사업을 지속적으로 추진하여 서구의 이미지 제고에 힘써 나가겠다.”고 밝혔다.
