【브레이크뉴스 대구 】박은정 기자=  대구시는 도시재생 공모사업에 북구 관음동 ‘반려동물과 함께하는 행복 관음’과 달성군 화원읍 설화리 ‘눈꽃처럼 밝은 설화마을’ 사업이 선정됐다고 15일 밝혔다.

이번에 선정된 2개 사업에는 2026년까지 총 531억 원이 순차 투입돼 15만 5천㎡의 쇠퇴지역에서 도시재생 사업이 추진된다.

북구 관음동(관음공영주차장 일원) ‘반려동물과 함께하는 행복 관음’ 사업은 노후된 경로공원 정비 및 부족한 마을공영주차장 확충 등으로 정주환경을 개선하고 반려동물시설을 조성해 유동인구 유입을 통한 지역경제 활성화 및 일자리 창출을 도모한다.

달성군 화원읍 설화리(설화1리회관 일원) ‘눈꽃처럼 밝은 설화마을’ 사업은 지역 전통 자원인 상여소리를 활용해 마을 정체성을 확보하고 눈꽃마실터, 소리커뮤니티마당 조성, 노후 주택·골목길 정비 등 주민 편의시설 설치와 노후 주거지 개선사업을 추진해 도시경쟁력을 향상하고자 한다.

대구시는 이번 공모 선정으로 추진 중인 도시재생사업 22곳을 포함, 총 24곳에 4,035억 원을 투자해 도시재생사업을 지속적으로 추진해 나갈 계획이다.

권오환 대구시 도시주택국장은 “앞으로도 지역의 역사·문화 등 고유자산을 활용하여 도시브랜드화를 추진하고 지역별 맞춤형 재생사업으로 활력이 넘치는 도시를 만들어 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
