9일 영진전문대는 지난 2018년 IEQAS에 선정된데 이어 6년 연속 교육국제화역량 인증을 유지하게 되어 외국인 유학생 유치와 대학 교육 국제화 등에 더욱 박차를 가할 예정이라고 밝혔다.

교육국제화역량 인증제는 고등교육기관의 질 관리 및 우수한 외국인 유학생 유치 확대를 위해 대학의 교육 국제화 전략, 국제교류 활동, 국제화 환경 및 지원 인프라, 외국인 유학생의 교육과 지원 등 국제화 역량을 갖춘 대학을 인증하는 것이다.

선정된 대학은 외국인 유학생 비자발급 절차 간소화, 정부초청 장학생 수학대학 선정 시 가점 부여, 해외 한국유학박람회 개최 시 참여 우대, 외국인유학생 선발 자율화 등의 혜택을 받게 된다.

이번 3주기 평가에서는 불법체류율을 기본 요건으로 국제화 전략 및 선발, 유학생 지원, 유학생 관리 및 성과 등의 평가가 진행되었다.

영진대학교는 외국인 유학생 유치를 위한 다양한 국제교류협력 프로그램을 개설과 운영의 내실화를 통해 2023학년도 1학기 현재 400여 명에 육박하는 외국인 유학생을 유치하였으며 중국, 일본, 몽골을 비롯 중앙아시아와 동남아시아에 이르기까지 다양한 지역 유학생들이 재학 중으로 확인된다.
