【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=영진전문대학교 메디컬K뷰티과가 겨울철을 맞아 지역 어르신을 위한 재능기부 봉사활동에 나섰다.
배기완 학과장과 김현정 교수, 그리고 재학생 6명으로 이뤄진 봉사단은 지난 3일과 오는 5일, 세 곳의 재가노인돌봄센터를 찾아 전문적인 피부·두피 관리와 손 마사지를 제공했다.
봉사단은 지난 3일 오전 보은재가노인돌봄센터에서 첫 봉사활동을 시작했다. 같은 날 오후에는 어르신마을재가노인돌봄센터를 찾아 봉사를 이어갔다. 이어 오는 5일 오후에는 정다운재가노인돌봄센터에서도 봉사활동을 펼칠 예정이다.
이번 봉사는 지역 어르신들이 겨울을 건강하게 보낼 수 있도록 돕기 위해 마련됐다.
현장에서 학생들은 전공을 살린 실습 봉사를 펼치며 피부·두피 관리와 손 마사지를 통해 어르신들의 피로를 덜어주고, 활력을 불어넣었다. 특히 따뜻한 손 마사지는 혈액 순환을 돕고 정서적 안정감까지 전하며 참여 어르신들에게 큰 호응을 얻었다.
배기완 학과장은 “학생들이 지역사회에 기여하는 봉사활동에 참여한다는 점이 학과의 가치와도 부합한다”며 “앞으로도 나눔과 배려를 실천하는 인재, 이웃과 함께 성장하는 전문 인력 양성에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.

The Department of Medical K-Beauty at Yeungjin College has embarked on a volunteer activity to help local seniors during the winter season.
The volunteer group, comprised of Department Head Bae Ki-wan, Professor Kim Hyun-jung, and six current students, visited three home-based senior care centers on the 3rd and 5th to provide professional skin and scalp care and hand massages.
The group began its first volunteer activity at the Boeun Home-based Senior Care Center on the morning of the 3rd. Later that afternoon, they visited the Senior Village Home-based Senior Care Center. They will continue their service at the Jeongdaun Home-based Senior Care Center on the afternoon of the 5th.
This volunteer activity was designed to help local seniors stay healthy during the winter.
The students applied their specialized skills to provide hands-on volunteer work, providing skin and scalp care and hand massages to relieve fatigue and revitalize the seniors. The warm hand massage, in particular, was well-received by the seniors who participated, as it promoted blood circulation and even provided emotional stability.
Department Head Bae Ki-wan stated, "The fact that students participate in volunteer activities that contribute to the community aligns with the department's values.
