이철우 경북도지사는 이날 규탄성명서를 통해 “독도는 역사적․지리적․국제법적으로 명백한 대한민국 고유의 영토이며, 독도에 대한 일본의 부당한 주장에 대해서는 단호하게 대응할 것”이라고 강조했다.

또 “독도 영유권에 대한 부당한 주장과 도발을 중단하고 일본 정부가 과거사의 올바른 인식과 청산을 통해 건설적인 미래 한일 관계와 세계평화를 위해 노력할 것”을 촉구했다.
