도의회는 성명을 통해 “독도는 역사적·지리적·국제법적으로 명백한 대한민국 고유영토”라며 “일본이 사실을 왜곡한 전시 공간을 확장해 허위 주장을 반복하는 것은 결코 용납할 수 없다”고 강하게 규탄했다.

박성만 의장은 일본 정부의 독도 왜곡 행동을 “책임 있는 국가라면 절대 해서는 안 될 일”이라고 일갈하고, “일본 정부가 국제사회의 신뢰받는 구성원이 되고자 한다면 과거사와 왜곡을 직시하고 부당한 영유권 주장을 즉각 철회해야 한다. 경북도의회는 앞으로도 국내외에서 독도 영토주권 수호 활동을 더욱 강력히 전개할 것”이라고 주장했다.

연규식 독도수호특별위원장(포항)도 일본 정부의 조치를 “묵과할 수 없는 영토 침탈 시도”라고 규정했다. 연 위원장은 “전시관 확장은 독도에 대한 지속적이고 구조적인 침탈 의지의 표현”이라며 “일본 정부는 왜곡된 전시를 즉각 중단하고 전시관을 폐쇄함으로써 국제사회에서 최소한의 책임 있는 국가의 자세를 보이라”고 촉구했다.

한편, 경상북도의회는 이날 규탄 성명에서 “독도는 역사·지리·국제법적으로 명백한 대한민국 고유의 영토임을 재천명하라”고 촉구하고 “일본의 반복되는 역사 왜곡은 국제사회의 신뢰를 스스로 저버리는 행위에 대하여 일본 정부가 지금이라도 잘못된 주장을 철회하지 않는다면 더욱 강한 대응에 나설 것”이라고 경고했다.

He asserted, "If the Japanese government wishes to become a trusted member of the international community, it must confront its past history and distortions and immediately withdraw its unjust territorial claims. The Gyeongbuk Provincial Council will continue to actively defend Dokdo's territorial sovereignty, both domestically and internationally."

Yeon Gyu-sik, Chairman of the Special Committee for the Defense of Dokdo (Pohang), also characterized the Japanese government's actions as "an unacceptable attempt at territorial invasion." Chairman Yeon stated, "The expansion of the exhibition hall is an expression of its continued and structural intent to invade Dokdo," urging the Japanese government to "immediately cease its distorted exhibition and close the exhibition hall, demonstrating the minimum level of responsibility it deserves in the international community."
