도의회는 일본 기시다 후미오 총리 취임 이후 처음으로 내놓은 외교청서에서또 다시‘독도는 일본 고유의 영토이며 한국이 불법 점거를 계속하고 있다’고 억지 주장을 되풀이한 것을 비판했다.

최근, 일본 총리가 한일관계 복원을 위해 협력할 것을 밝히고 외교청서에 한국을 ‘중요한 이웃‘이라고 표현하면서도 독도 영유권 억지주장을 되풀이하는 언행불일치한 행위를 지적했다.

고우현 의장은“270만 도민과 함께 독도에 대한 엉터리 영유권 주장을 되풀이하는 행태를 강력히 규탄하며 이를 즉각 철회할 것”과, “일본정부의 계속되는 독도 억지 주장은 미래지향적 한일관계 구축을 외면하는 행위로 앞으로도 단호하게 대처해 나갈 것”이라고 밝혔다.

박판수 독도수호특위 위원장은 “독도의 날을 국가기념일로 지정해야 할 이유가 여기서도 드러난다”며, “일본 외교청서를 즉각 폐기하고 역사에 대한 올바른 인식과 진정한 반성의 자세를 보여라”고 촉구했다.
