【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=경북 교육청이 지난11일, 동북아역사재단(이사장 이영호)과 독도교육 활성화를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.

12일 경북교육청은 동북아역사재단과 협약을 맺고 독도교육을 통한 올바른 영토관과 역사관 확립과 동북아시아 평화에 기여하는 미래지향적 세계 시민의식 함양을 위해 나섰다고 밝혔다.

양 기관은 협약을 통해 ▶독도교육 콘텐츠 활용 ▶초·중등 독도 동아리 육성 및 활성화 ▶독도교육센터 구축 시 콘텐츠 지원 ▶독도교육 관련 콘텐츠 상호 활용 및 교류 ▶기타 양 기관의 인적·물적 자원 활용 및 교류에 대한 협력을 약속했다. 

임종식 교육감은 “이번 동북아역사재단과의 업무협약을 통해 양 기관이 우수한 독도교육 콘텐츠를 교류하고 지속적인 협력 체계를 구축해 독도교육을 더욱 활성화하는 계기가 되기를 바란다.”고 협약 체결의 소감을 밝혔다.

한편 경북교육청은 전국 최초로 온라인 독도교육 플랫폼‘사이버독도학교’를 개교해 활발한 독도교육을 펼치고 있으며, 향후 울릉도 (구) 장흥분교에 독도교육센터를 건립해 학생과 교원의 독도 탐방을 지원할 계획이다.

Lim Jong-shik, superintendent of education, expressed his thoughts on the signing of the agreement, saying, “Through this business agreement with the Northeast Asian History Foundation, the two institutions will exchange excellent Dokdo educational contents and build a continuous cooperation system to further vitalize Dokdo education.”

Meanwhile, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education opened the nation's first online Dokdo education platform, 'Cyber Dokdo School,' and is actively promoting Dokdo education.
