16일 경북교육청은 독도가 일본 고유의 영토라며 역사 왜곡을 거듭하고 있는 일본 정부에 대해 강력히 항의하며“비양심적 망언을 즉각 반성하고 철회하라”고 밝혔다.

특히 “일본 정부가 독도를 다케시마로 호칭하며 역사적 국제법상 일본 고유의 영토라는 주장은 대한민국 주권과 국민에 대한 심각하고 중대한 도전”이라고 꼬집었다.

그러면서 “거듭되는 독도 관련 망언과 강제징용 등 과거 식민 지배와 침략전쟁을 전면 부인하는 역사 왜곡에 대해 즉각 철회하라”고 요구했다.

경북교육청은 “일본 정부는 비양심적인 역사 왜곡을 중단하고 미래 세대가 살아갈 동북아의 평화를 향해 함께 나아갈 것을 촉구한다”고 밝혔다.
