그는 또 “저는 보여주기식 시장 방문이 아니라 상인 여러분의 고생과 땀을 닦아 드리고자 마음을 다해 장보기를 해왔다”면서 “전통시장 인근의 아파트와 주택에 사시는 주민들도 함께 좋아지는 서민경제 살리기에 매진하겠다”고 말했다.

조원진 후보는 “달서구의 경제를 힘들게 하고 아파트값을 불안하게 하는 정치인은 바람직하지 않다”면서 “대구와 달서의 경제를 발전시킬 조원진을 꼭 선택해 달라”고 지지를 호소했다.
