11일 우리공화당 조원진 대표는 교섭단체 대표연설에서 제왕적 대통령의 권력을 분산하는 분권형 개헌을 주장한 권성동 원내대표를 향해 “지금은 개헌이 아니라 탄핵 기각에 집중할 때”라고 말했다.

조 대표는 “대통령이 구속되어서 헌법재판소에서 탄핵변론이 진행중인데, 집권여당의 권성동 원내대표가 교섭단체 대표연설에서 분권형 개헌을 주장하는 것이 제정신인가”라고 질타했다.

그러면서 “매주 수십만 명의 국민이 엄동설한에 탄핵 반대를 외치며 대국민 홍보활동을 하는 상황에서 집권여당 원내대표가 탄핵 기각에 집중하지는 못할망정, 대통령의 탄핵을 인정하는 듯한 개헌을 꺼낸 이유가 도대체 무엇인가”라고 꼬집었다.

그는 “권성동 원내대표는 교섭단체 대표연설에서 말은 그럴듯하게 했지만 언제 한번 민주당의 반시장, 반기업악법에 대해서 제대로 싸워본 적이 있나”며 “민심을 왜곡하는 것이 뻔한 준연동형 비례대표제에 대해서도 그저 당리당략만 생각했던 과거에 대해서 반성부터 해야 할 것”이라고 강조했다.

조원진 대표는 “과거처럼 또다시 배신을 할 것인가”라며 “국민의힘은 국민들의 분노에 찬 탄핵 반대 요구에 행동으로 응해야 한다”고 말했다.
