【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=대한민국시군자치구의회의장협의회(회장 김현기)는 16일 경주 힐튼호텔에서 제268차 시도대표회의를 열었다.

이번 회의는 경상북도시군의회의장협의회(회장 이동협·경주시의장) 주관으로 열렸으며, 전국 시도대표 회장을 비롯해 경북 시군의회 의장단, 경주시의회 의원, 지방의정봉사상 수상자 등 170여 명이 참석했다.

회의에서는 협의회 활동사항 보고와 함께 지방의회 자체감사 필요성에 대한 의견 제출, ‘장애물 없는 생활환경(BF) 인증 제도 개선 촉구 건의안’ 등 안건 심의와 결과 보고가 이뤄졌다.

이어진 환영식에서는 APEC 2025 KOREA 홍보영상 상영 후 ▲이경희(경주시의회) ▲김세호(김천시의회) ▲신성호(문경시의회) ▲김성호(영덕군의회) ▲강영구(예천군의회) ▲박영길(울진군의회) 의원 등 6명이 지방의정봉사상을 수상했다.

김현기 협의회장은 개회사에서 “가장 한국적인 도시 경주에서 회의를 열게 돼 뜻깊다”며 “입법역량 강화를 위한 제도개선을 바탕으로 더 큰 지방자치를 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.

이동협 경북대표회장은 환영사에서 “지방의회 간 소통과 협력을 통해 지역 현안의 해법과 새로운 비전을 모색하는 시간이 되길 바란다”며 “특히 2025 APEC 정상회의가 경주와 경북, 나아가 대한민국의 위상을 높이는 계기가 될 수 있도록 관심과 성원을 부탁드린다”고 강조했다.

한편, 대한민국시군자치구의회의장협의회는 전국 226개 기초의회를 대표하는 지방 4대 협의체 중 하나로, 기초의회 권한 강화와 주민 중심 자치 실현을 위한 정책 개발 및 현안 대응 활동을 펼치고 있다.

Representatives of Local Councils from All Over the Country Hold 268th Provincial Representative Meeting in Gyeongju

The Korean Council of City and County Council Speakers (Chairman Kim Hyun-ki) held its 268th Provincial Representative Meeting at the Gyeongju Hilton Hotel on the 16th.

In his opening remarks, Council Chairperson Kim Hyeon-gi stated, "It is meaningful to hold this meeting in Gyeongju, the most Korean city in the world." He added, "We will strive to create greater local autonomy through institutional improvements to strengthen legislative capacity."

Gyeongbuk Representative Chairman Lee Dong-hyeop stated in his welcoming address, "I hope this will be an opportunity to explore solutions to local issues and new visions through communication and cooperation among local councils." He emphasized, "In particular, I ask for your interest and support so that the 2025 APEC Summit can serve as an opportunity to elevate the status of Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk, and, ultimately, the Republic of Korea."

Meanwhile, the Council of Speakers of Municipal and County Councils of the Republic of Korea is one of the four major local councils representing 226 local councils across the country, and is developing policies and responding to current issues to strengthen the authority of local councils and realize resident-centered autonomy.
