이날 종무식에는 경주시의회 의원들과 의회사무국 직원들이 참석한 가운데 ▲승진자 임명장 전달 ▲의정활동 및 의회 발전에 기여한 공로가 큰 의원과 직원에 대한 표창 ▲제9대 경주시의회의 2025년 의정활동을 담은 홍보영상 시청 등으로 진행됐다.

특히 종무식에서는 한 해 동안의 주요 의정 성과를 돌아보며, 시민과 현장에서 소통하며 정책과 제도로 성과를 만들어 온 의회의 역할을 공유하는 시간이 마련됐다.

이동협 경주시의회 의장은 송년사를 통해 “2025년은 APEC 정상회의의 성공적인 개최를 향한 의회의 도전과 헌신이 집약된 해이자, 시민의 목소리를 현장에서 직접 듣고 이를 제도와 정책으로 풀어내고자 한 진정성이 담긴 한 해였다”고 평가했다.

이어 “전문적인 의정활동을 펼쳐온 동료 의원 여러분과 의정 지원에 헌신한 직원 여러분의 노고에 깊이 감사드린다”며 “2026년에도 경주의 발전과 시민 행복을 위해 함께 힘을 모아달라”고 당부했다.
