이번 현장 점검은 APEC 2025 KOREA 개최가 약 2주 앞으로 다가온 가운데, 정상회의의 성공적인 개최를 위한 제반 준비상황을 면밀히 확인하고 마무리 단계의 주요 사항을 최종 점검하기 위해 실시됐다.

의원들은 먼저 경상북도 APEC 준비지원단으로부터 추진 경과와 준비 현황에 대한 보고를 받은 뒤 질의응답을 통해 세부사항을 확인했으며, 이후 주요 행사장 시설을 순차적으로 둘러보며 현장 상황을 꼼꼼히 살폈다.

이동협 의장은 “어려운 여건 속에서도 최적의 인프라를 구축하기 위해 경주시민은 물론 260만 경북도민이 함께 힘을 모아왔다”며 “마지막까지 최선을 다해 빈틈없는 준비로 완벽한 회의가 될 수 있도록 노력해 달라”고 당부했다.

이락우 2025 APEC 정상회의 추진지원 특별위원장도 “많은 시민이 기다려온 APEC 정상회의가 이제 눈앞에 다가왔다”며 “경주가 세계 속에 우뚝 설 수 있도록 모두가 한마음으로 응원해 달라”고 말했다.
