의회는 지난 29일 캠페인에 동참하며 남도 음식문화의 세계적 확산을 응원했다. 이번 박람회는 ‘자연을 맛보다, 바다를 맛나다’를 슬로건으로 내걸고, 오는 10월 1일부터 26일까지 목포문화예술회관 일원에서 열린다. 대한민국 최초의 미식 박람회로, 남도의 자연을 담은 신선한 음식과 깊은 풍미를 선보일 예정이다.

전남 신안군의회 이상주 의장의 지명을 받아 캠페인에 나선 이동협 의장은 “남도의 맛과 멋이 세계로 뻗어나가는 뜻깊은 자리에 함께할 수 있어 기쁘다”며 “이번 박람회가 대한민국 미식 산업이 한 단계 도약하는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

이 의장은 이어 다음 주자로 경남 밀양시의회 허홍 의장과 강원 강릉시의회 최익순 의장을 지명하며 “많은 관심과 응원을 통해 박람회의 성공을 함께 만들어 가자”고 당부했다.

The chairman then nominated Heo Hong, the chairman of the Miryang City Council in South Gyeongsang Province, and Choi Ik-sun, the chairman of the Gangneung City Council in Gangwon Province, as the next runners, and asked them to “make the expo a success together through much interest and support.”
