대한민국 주거복지대전은 주거복지 분야에서 우수한 정책과 성과를 거둔 기관을 선정해 포상하는 행사로, 이날 시상식에는 국토교통부 관계자를 비롯해 전국 공공기관과 지방자치단체 관계자들이 참석했다.

대구도시개발공사는 1988년 전국 최초의 지방개발공사로 설립된 이후 시민의 주거안정과 삶의 질 향상을 최우선 가치로 삼아 맞춤형 임대주택 공급과 주거복지 서비스 강화를 지속해 왔다. 특히 주거 취약계층을 포괄하는 체계적인 지원과 시민 체감형 주거복지 전달체계를 구축한 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

또한 CPTED 기반 범죄예방 환경개선, CCTV·가로등 설치, 정기·수시 안전점검 강화 등을 통해 사각지대 없는 안전한 주거환경 조성에 나섰다. 주거복지센터 설립과 전문 상담인력 확충으로 상담부터 사례관리, 사후관리까지 아우르는 통합 지원체계를 구축한 점도 이번 수상의 주요 공적으로 평가됐다.

정명섭 대구도시개발공사 사장은 “이번 국무총리표창은 청년부터 취약계층까지 시민의 삶 전반을 살피는 주거복지 정책을 꾸준히 추진해 온 성과”라며 “앞으로도 시민이 체감할 수 있는 맞춤형 주거복지 서비스를 통해 안전하고 따뜻한 주거환경을 조성해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
