이번 행사는 양 기관이 지난해 4월 체결한 공동 사회공헌활동 상호협력 업무협약의 연장선으로, 지난해 대구 군위군 사과 농가 일손 돕기에 이어 두 번째로 진행됐다. 올해는 광주 무등산 평촌마을 농가에서 단감 수확 봉사활동을 실시하며, 지역 간 협력과 상생의 의미를 한층 강화했다.

행사에는 양 기관 사장과 노동조합 위원장을 비롯한 임직원 50여 명이 참여했다. 참가자들은 농가 지원 활동 외에도 무등산 분청사기 유적 연계 도예 체험 등 다양한 교류 프로그램을 통해 화합과 소통의 시간을 가졌다.

정명섭 대구도시개발공사 사장은 “이번 달빛동맹 교류행사는 영호남이 함께 손잡고 지역사회 발전과 나눔을 실천한 뜻깊은 자리였다”며, “앞으로도 긴밀한 협력을 통해 지역상생과 사회적 책임 실현에 앞장서겠다”고 말했다.

Daegu and Gwangju Urban Development Corporations Volunteer to Harvest Sweet Persimmons at 'Moonlight Alliance Exchange Event'

Daegu Urban Development Corporation (CEO Jeong Myeong-seop) and Gwangju Metropolitan City Development Corporation (CEO Kim Seung-nam) announced on the 23rd that they held a 'Moonlight Alliance Exchange Event' together, carrying out joint social contribution activities to promote mutual prosperity and social value in the Yeongnam and Honam regions.

This event, an extension of the MOU signed between the two organizations in April of last year for joint social contribution activities, marked the second such event, following last year's volunteer service at an apple farm in Gunwi County, Daegu. This year, volunteers harvested sweet persimmons at a farm in Pyeongchon Village, Mudeungsan Mountain, Gwangju, further strengthening the spirit of regional cooperation and mutual prosperity.

Approximately 50 executives and employees, including the presidents and labor union chairs of both organizations, participated in the event. In addition to supporting the farms, participants also enjoyed various exchange programs, including pottery experience programs related to the Buncheong Ware Heritage Site of Mudeungsan Mountain, fostering harmony and communication.

Jeong Myeong-seop, president of Daegu Urban Development Corporation, said, “This Moonlight Alliance exchange event was a meaningful opportunity for the Yeongnam and Honam regions to join hands and practice community development and sharing,” and added, “We will continue to take the lead in realizing regional coexistence and social responsibility through close cooperation.”
