대구경실련은 한국섬유개발연구원 이사회가 3월 8일, 회의를 열어 강혁기 원장에 대한 해임안을 가결한 사실을 언급하며 “한국섬유개발원 이사들로 구성된 경영평가위원회는 강혁기 원장에 대한 2020년 경영평가에서 해임에 해당되는 낮은 점수를 주었다”면서 “사유가 정당하다면 강혁기 원장에 대한 해임 결정은 크게 문제될 일은 아니다. 그런데 한국섬유개발연구원 노동조합 등에 따르면 강혁기 원장이 취임한 후 그에 대한 경영평가 결과는 80점대 이상으로 우수한 편이었고, 2020년의 경영실적도 괜찮은 편이라고 한다”며 의혹을 제기했다.

경실련은 “이사들로 구성된 경영평가위원회가 해임에 해당되는 점수를 준 것은 이사회와의 관계가 악화된 강혁기 원장을 해임할 빌미가 필요했기 때문”이라고 주장하며 “경영평가위원회는 사실상 경영평가 결과를 조작하고 이사회는 이를 이유로 강혁기 원장을 해임한 것”이라고 비판을 이어갔다.

그러면서 “강원기 원장 해임 의결이 부당한 것이라고 단정할 수는 없지만 경영평가와 여러 정황, 내부자인 노동조합의 문제 제기 등을 감안하면 한국섬유개발연구원 이사회의 경영평가는 실제적인 경영실적과 무관한, 불순한 의도로 자행된 횡포일 가능성이 크다”고 강조했다. 

이어 경실련은 강혁기 원장에 대한 경영평가와 관련된 모든 정보를 공개할 것을 요구하며 “이사회의 경영평가 결과와 강혁기 원장 해임에 대한 객관적인 검증을 실시하고 그 결과를 공개하라”고 촉구했다.

아울러 한국섬유개발연구원의 당연직 이사인 산업통상자원부, 대구광역시 간부공무원들의 책임 있는 해명과 감독기관인 산업통상자원부의 감사 실시를 요구했다.
