대권주자인 국민의힘 유승민 전 의원이 여성가족부 폐지를 주장하고 나섰다.

유승민 전 의원은 6일 자신의 페이스 북을 통해 “여성가족부가 과연 따로 필요한가?”에 대해 물으며 여성가족부 폐지를 선거 공약으로 내놓았다.

유 전 의원은 “여성의 건강과 복지는 보건복지부가, 여성의 취업, 직장 내 차별, 경력단절여성의 직업훈련과 재취업 문제는 고용노동부가, 창업이나 기업인에 대한 지원은 중소벤처기업부가, 성범죄와 가정폭력, 데이트폭력 등의 문제는 법무부와 검찰, 경찰이, 아동의 양육과 돌봄 문제는 보건복지부와 교육부가 담당하면 되고 담당해야 한다”고 설명했다.

그러면서 “2021년 여가부의 예산은 1조 2,325억원”이라고 밝히며 “그 중 한부모가족 아동 양육 및 돌봄 사업이 60%나 차지하고, 청소년 사회안전망, 디지털 성범죄 대응이 30%이고, 경력단절여성 취업지원은 8%에 불과하다”고 질타를 이어갔다.

이어 그는 “여가부라는 별도의 부처를 만들고 장관, 차관, 국장들을 둘 이유가 없다. 여가부 장관은 정치인이나 대선캠프 인사에게 전리품으로 주는 자리에 불과하다”고 비판을 이어갔다.
