김창식 학생은 제50회 치과기공사 국가고시에서 305점 만점에 299점을 받아 응시자 1천 57명 중 1등으로 합격했다.

대구보건대 치기공학과 지난해에 이어 2년 연속으로 국가고시 전국 수석자를 배출하는 기염을 토하는 치기공학과의 뛰어난 물리적 환경과 교육 커리큘럼의 우수성을 입증했다.

치기공학과는 국가시험 대비 학(學)UP 모의고사, 학(學)UP 맞춤형 특강, 학(學)UP 스터디 등 국가면허완전정복 계획을 수립해 학생들을 지원해왔다.

또한 이론특강, 실기특강, 실기 향상반 특강 등 구체적인 맞춤형 과정을 개설해 학생들이 필요한 강의를 선택하도록 지도했다. 

이러한 노력으로 대구보건대학교 치기공학과는 제50회 치과기공사 국가고시 합격률에서 재학생 기준 82.92%로 우수한 성적을 보이는 쾌거를 이뤘다.

이번 국가고시에서 수석으로 합격한 김창식 학생은 고교시절부터 컴퓨터응용선반기능사, 컴퓨터응용밀링기능사, 전산응용기계제도기능사 등 많은 자격증을 취득할 정도로 기계·장비 분야에 관심이 많았던 것으로 알려지며 입학 이후에도 우수한 성적을 거둬왔다. 2021년 2학기 석차는 전체 1등, 2022년 1학기 석차는 전체 2등을 차지해 매우 뛰어난 학부성적을 보였다.

앞서 김창식 학생은 올해 부산에서 열린 ‘2022 영남권 치기공학과 학생 실기 경진대회(석고조각부문)’에서 2등을, 수원에서 열린 ‘KDTEX 2022 학생실기경진대회(석고조각부문)’에서 1등을 수상하며 2관왕의 영예를 안았다. 

김창식 학생은 “이처럼 각종 대회 준비와 학업을 병행하면서도 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있었던 것은 학과의 우수한 교육과정과 교수님들의 지도 덕분”이라면서 “특히 동기들과 함께 공부하면서 지식을 공유하고 부족한 부분을 서로 채워나가는 학습튜터링이 가장 큰 도움이 됐다”고 말했다. 이어 “앞으로 임상에서 다양한 케이스를 접하고 연구하면서 국내 최고의 치과기공사가 되기 위해 정진해 나가겠다.”고 포부를 밝혔다.

정효경 학과장은 “수석을 차지한 학생뿐만 아니라 이번 국가고시 시험을 준비한 모든 학생들에게 아낌없는 박수를 보낸다”며 “앞으로도 50여년간 축적된 노하우를 바탕으로 현장실무능력과 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 세계적 수준의 치과기공사 양성을 위해 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
