대구시는 2023년 선도사업의 국비가 최종 확정됨에 따라 선도사업 3건에 대해 행정절차를 거쳐 2월에 용역을 발주하여 금호강 르네상스 사업을 본격 추진한다고 12일 밝혔다.

오는 2026년까지 사업비 810억원이 투입되는 금호강 르네상스사업은 동촌유원지 명품하천 조성사업, 디아크 문화관광 활성화사업, 금호강 국가생태탐방로 조성사업으로 구성됐다.

동촌유원지 명품하천 조성사업은 동촌유원지 일원에 생태수로, 비오톱 복원 및 사계절 물놀이장과 샌드비치 조성으로 생태·문화·관광이 어우러진 명품하천 거점공간으로 변모시키는 사업이다.

디아크 문화관광 활성화사업은 2025년까지 디아크 주변 문화관광자원(화원유원지, 달성습지)의 연계를 위한 랜드마크 보행교를 설치해 금호강·낙동강 합류부의 두물머리 경관명소 창출 및 관광 활성화에 기여코자 추진한다.

금호강 국가생태탐방로 조성사업은 2024년까지 천혜의 하천 자연환경을 보전하고 있는 금호강 안심권역 일원에 안심습지·금강습지·팔현습지를 연계해 하천 자연환경의 훼손 없이 시민들이 생태·역사·문화자원을 보다 쉽게 접하고, 안전하게 탐방할 수 있도록 생태탐방로를 조성하는 사업이다.

선도사업의 설계용역은 내부 T/F 팀과 외부 전문가로 이루어진 전문가 자문단을 적극 활용해 완성도를 높여 금년 내에 완료하고 내년부터는 본격적으로 공사를 추진할 계획이다.

또 선도사업의 차질 없는 추진과 더불어 본사업에 대해서도 금호강 르네상스 마스터플랜 고도화 용역을 금년 내에 시행해 금호강 전 구간에 대한 금호강 르네상스 사업계획을 마련하여 단계별 시행을 통한 시민이용중심의 금호강 르네상스를 2029년 완성시킬 계획이다.
