동구청은 사업비 총 14억 원을 투입해 지난해 11월 실시설계용역, 12월 착공했으며 오는 5월 준공한다.
이번 사업은 기존의 마사토 축구장을 인조잔디 구장으로 조성하는 것이 핵심이며 맨발걷기 인구 증가에 따른 마사토 트랙 정비, 세족장도 설치한다.
또, 조명탑 4개도 조성해 야간에도 이용할 수 있게 한다.
윤석준 동구청장은 “앞으로 주민들의 건강한 여가생활 실천을 위해 체육시설 개선에 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
