【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자= 달성군(군수 최재훈)은 올해부터 관내 어린이집을 대상으로 영어교사를 파견하여 직접 영어특별활동을 진행한다고 26일 밝혔다.

 이번 파견 사업은 달성군 전체 187개소의 어린이집 중 사업 참여를 희망하는 181개소의 어린이집에 대해 만2세 이상 영유아(4,812명)들을 대상으로 실시한다.

약 12억 원의 사업예산을 들여 영어회화 및 영어놀이, 어린이집 행사와 연계한 다양한 체험활동 등 다채롭게 이루어질 계획이다.

 현재까지는 학부모가 영어특별활동비를 지급하고 자녀의 영어수업이 진행되었으나, 지자체에서 사업을 직접 시행함에 따라 달성군 전체 연평균 약 7억 원의 민간부분 경제적 부담 경감효과가 있을 것으로 기대된다. 

 최재훈 달성군수는“아이가 더 좋은 환경에서 행복하고 훌륭하게 자라날 수 있도록 교육과 보육 분야에 다양한 정책을 마련하여 달성군이 전국 최고의 맞춤형 교육 도시로 나아가기 위해 최선을 다하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
