김진열 군위군수는 관계자들과의 면담에서 “군위군은 국가 안보와 직결되는 군부대 이전 사업이 성공적으로 추진될 수 있도록 행정적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”며 “이번 이전 사업이 군위군의 새로운 성장 동력이 될 수 있도록 국방부·대구시와 긴밀히 협력해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

군위군은 현재 ‘대구시 군부대 이전에 따른 대응전략 수립 연구용역’을 추진 중이다. 용역에는 △군부대 이전사업 개요 및 지역 연계 발전 구상 △민·군 협력 사례 분석 △우보면·삼국유사면 발전 전략 등 군위군 차원의 종합 대응 전략이 포함돼 있다.

군위군 관계자는 “군위군은 대한민국 국방의 중추적 거점으로 자리매김할 준비가 되어 있다”며, “앞으로도 군부대 이전이 지역과 국가 모두에 윈-윈이 될 수 있도록 모든 역량을 집중하겠다”고 강조했다.

한편, 대구시 군부대 이전 군위군 추진위원회(위원장 장병익)는 10월 1일 군위종합운동장에서 열린 제49회 군위군민 체육대회에서 군부대 이전사업 홍보 활동을 펼쳤다. 추진위원회는 행사 현장에서 홍보물품을 배부하고 주민들의 의견을 수렴해 군위군에 전달하는 등 주민 참여와 수용성 제고에 힘썼다.

추진위는 2024년 7월 출범 이후 △군부대 유치 1만 명 서명 돌파 퍼포먼스 △군부대 이전 기원제 및 한마음축제 △군민화합한마당 등을 열며 이전사업에 대한 공감대 확산과 군민 결집에 주력해 왔다.

The committee distributed promotional materials at the event and collected feedback from residents, which was then relayed to Gunwi County, striving to increase resident participation and acceptance.

Since its launch in July 2024, the Promotion Committee has focused on building consensus and uniting the military community on the relocation project. These efforts include: A performance to collect 10,000 signatures for the military base; a military base relocation prayer ceremony and a festival celebrating the unity of the people; and a community gathering.
