이번 수상은 농촌·초고령 지역이라는 지역적 한계를 극복하고자 단계별 치매검진 체계를 구축하고, 적극적인 행정 추진을 통해 치매 조기 발견과 환자 등록률을 실질적으로 향상시킨 성과를 인정받은 결과다.

군위군 치매안심센터는 치매 조기 발견과 등록률 제고를 위해 선별–진단–감별로 이어지는 단계별 치매검진 사업을 체계적으로 운영하고 있다. 특히 2025년부터는 신규사업으로 ▲마을별 찾아가는 치매선별검사 ▲교통취약자를 위한 치매안심택시 송영서비스 ▲보호자 부재 대상자를 위한 치매안심동행서비스를 본격 도입해 치매 검진 접근성을 크게 개선했다.

이 가운데 치매안심택시와 치매안심동행서비스는 대구시 최초로 시행된 사업으로, 이동이 어려운 고령자와 보호자가 없는 대상자에게 실질적인 이동 및 행정 지원을 제공하며 치매환자 등록과 지속적인 관리 체계를 강화한 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

윤영국 군위군보건소장은 “단계별 치매검진 과정에서 나타난 현장의 문제점을 면밀히 분석하고, 지역 여건에 맞는 해결책을 마련한 것이 의미 있는 성과로 이어졌다”며 “앞으로도 사업 운영과 홍보를 더욱 강화해 치매검진 사각지대를 해소하고, 조기 발견과 치료를 통해 군민의 삶의 질 향상에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.

군위군 치매안심센터는 앞으로도 지속적인 사업 운영을 통해 센터 접근성과 인지활동 프로그램 참여율을 높이고, 예방 중심의 치매관리 체계를 더욱 공고히 해 나갈 계획이다.

한편 군위군보건소 치매안심센터는 이번 보건복지부 장려상 수상에 앞서, ‘치매안심 동행·택시 서비스’로 대구시 주관 ‘2025년 생활밀접 민원제도 개선 우수사례 경진대회’에서 최우수상을 수상한 바 있어, 현장 중심 적극행정의 모범 사례로 잇따라 주목받고 있다.

Among these, the Dementia Safety Taxi and Dementia Safety Companion Service, the first of their kind in Daegu, received high praise for providing practical transportation and administrative support to seniors with mobility difficulties and those without caregivers, while also strengthening the dementia patient registration and ongoing management system.

Yoon Young-guk, Director of the Gunwi County Public Health Center, stated, "Thoroughly analyzing the on-site issues identified during the step-by-step dementia screening process and developing solutions tailored to local conditions led to these meaningful results." He added, "We will continue to strengthen program operations and promotion to address blind spots in dementia screening and strive to improve the quality of life of county residents through early detection and treatment."

The Gunwi County Dementia Safety Center plans to continue its program to increase accessibility and participation in cognitive activity programs, further solidifying its prevention-focused dementia management system.

Meanwhile, Gunwi County Public Health Center's Dementia Care Center, prior to receiving the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Encouragement Award, also won the grand prize at the Daegu City-hosted '2025 Lifestyle-related Civil Complaint System Improvement Best Practice Competition' for its 'Dementia Care Companion/Taxi Service', and is continuously receiving attention as a model case of proactive administration centered on the field.
