이번 캠페인은 일회용 컵·비닐봉투·플라스틱 사용을 줄이고, 텀블러·장바구니 등 다회용품 사용을 생활화하자는 취지로 진행됐다. 청도읍사무소 직원들은 거리 곳곳에서 현수막을 들고 적극적으로 홍보하며, 주민들에게 다회용품 사용 안내문을 배포하고 참여를 독려했다.

이철승 청도읍장은 “작은 실천이 모이면 큰 변화를 만들 수 있다”며, “지역사회 모두가 함께하는 친환경 생활문화를 조성하기 위해 지속적인 홍보와 실천 활동을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

청도읍은 앞으로 마을회관, 상가 밀집지역, 학교 등과 연계해 ‘NO 플라스틱, YES 다회용품’ 캠페인을 정기적으로 추진할 계획이다. 또한 전 직원을 대상으로 한 친환경 실천 교육도 확대해 공공 부문에서 일회용품 줄이기 실천을 선도해 나갈 방침이다.
