【브레이크뉴스 영양】이성현 기자=영양군(군수 오도창)은 오는 9일부터 25일까지 영양읍 현리 빙상장 일원에서 제3회 ‘영양 꽁꽁 겨울축제’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

영양군이 주최하고 영양군체육회가 주관하는 이번 축제는 지난해 열린 제2회 축제의 성과를 바탕으로 시설과 프로그램을 한층 보강해 운영된다. 자유이용권은 1만5,000원으로, 이 가운데 5,000원은 영양사랑상품권으로 환급된다.

특히 얼음낚시터와 눈썰매장을 대폭 보강해 가족 단위 방문객들이 보다 안전하고 쾌적하게 즐길 수 있도록 했으며, 빙어튀김을 비롯한 다양한 겨울철 먹거리도 확대해 축제의 즐거움을 더할 예정이다.

축제는 행사 기간 동안 매일 오전 10시부터 오후 5시까지 운영된다. 다만 기상 여건에 따라 일부 프로그램의 운영 시간이나 운영 여부는 조정될 수 있다. 영양군은 현장 안전요원 배치와 시설 점검 등 철저한 안전 관리 아래 축제를 진행할 방침이다.

영양 꽁꽁 겨울축제는 얼음낚시와 눈썰매 등 겨울 대표 체험 프로그램을 중심으로 남녀노소 누구나 즐길 수 있는 겨울 축제로 자리매김해 왔다. 이에 따라 이번 제3회 축제에는 지난해 4만 명을 넘어 5만 명 이상의 방문객이 찾을 것으로 군은 기대하고 있다.

오희경 영양군 문화관광과장(직무대리)은 “지난해 축제 운영 경험을 바탕으로 더욱 재미있고 안전한 축제가 될 수 있도록 만반의 준비를 했다”며 “이번 축제를 통해 가족, 연인, 친구들과 함께 추운 겨울 속에서 특별한 추억을 만들길 바란다”고 말했다.
