영양군은 올해 총 1억5천만 원의 예산을 투입해 배출가스 4·5등급 경유차와 노후 건설기계를 대상으로 조기폐차 보조금을 지원한다고 밝혔다.
지원 규모는 총 96대로, 5등급 차량 71대, 4등급 차량 21대, 건설기계 4대다. 사업은 예산 범위 내 선착순으로 진행돼 조기 마감될 수 있다.
지원 대상은 배출가스 4·5등급 경유차(5등급은 경유 외 연료 포함)와 2009년 8월 31일 이전 배출허용기준이 적용된 도로용 3종 건설기계(덤프트럭, 콘크리트믹서트럭, 콘크리트펌프트럭), 노후 지게차 및 굴착기 등이다. 신청 차량은 영양군에 6개월 이상 등록돼 있어야 하며, 정기검사 적합 판정을 받는 등 요건을 충족해야 한다.
사업 기간은 2026년 3월부터 12월까지이며, 신청은 자동차 배출가스 등급제 홈페이지를 통한 온라인 접수와 한국자동차환경협회 등기우편, 영양군청 환경보전과 방문 접수로 가능하다.
보조금은 차량 종류와 배출가스 등급에 따라 차등 지급된다. 총중량 3.5톤 미만 5등급 차량은 차량 기준가액의 최대 100%까지 지원되며, 4등급 차량은 차종에 따라 50~70% 수준이 지원된다. 또한 노후 차량 폐차 후 전기차나 수소차 등 무공해 차량을 구매할 경우 추가 보조금도 받을 수 있다.
영양군 관계자는 “이번 사업을 통해 미세먼지 배출을 줄이고 군민 생활환경 개선에 기여할 것으로 기대한다”며 “대상 차량 소유자들의 적극적인 참여를 당부한다”고 말했다.

Yeongyang County is launching a support program for the early scrapping of old diesel vehicles to reduce fine dust and improve the air quality.
Yeongyang County announced that it will invest a total budget of 150 million won this year to provide early scrapping subsidies for diesel vehicles with emission grades 4 and 5, as well as old construction machinery.
The support covers a total of 96 vehicles, comprising 71 grade 5 vehicles, 21 grade 4 vehicles, and 4 pieces of construction machinery. The program will proceed on a first-come, first-served basis within the budget limits and may close early.

The program runs from March to December 2026. Applications can be submitted online via the Vehicle Emission Grade System website, via registered mail to the Korea Automobile Environmental Association, or in person at the Environmental Conservation Division of the Yeongyang-gun Office.
Subsidies are provided on a differential basis depending on the vehicle type and emission grade. Grade 5 vehicles with a gross weight of less than 3.5 tons are eligible for support up to 100% of the vehicle's standard value, while Grade 4 vehicles receive support ranging from 50% to 70% depending on the model. Additionally, owners who scrap their old vehicles and purchase zero-emission vehicles, such as electric or hydrogen cars, are eligible for additional subsidies.
An official from Yeongyang-gun stated, "We expect this program to reduce fine dust emissions and contribute to improving the living environment of our residents," adding, "We urge owners of eligible vehicles to participate actively."
