【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구보건대학교(총장 남성희)는 지난 19일 오후 3시 대구보건대학교병원 1관 9층 세미나실에서 ㈜GL과 함께 VR 기반 인지기능훈련 시스템 ‘멘티트리(MENTITREE)’ 기증식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 기증은 디지털 헬스케어 시대에 대응한 교육·실증 기반을 구축하고, VR 기반 인지건강 기술을 현장 교육과 연계하기 위해 마련됐다. 이날 행사에는 남성희 대구보건대학교 총장을 비롯해 김지인 대외부총장, 최경식 대구보건대학교병원 진료부장, 김도현 ㈜GL 대표이사 등 관계자 10여 명이 참석했다.

기증된 ‘멘티트리’는 식품의약품안전처가 지정한 혁신의료기기 제53호로, 가상현실(VR)과 핸드트래킹, 뇌파 측정, 인공지능(AI) 기술을 융합한 인지기능훈련 시스템이다. 치매 예방과 인지건강 관리를 위한 디지털 솔루션으로, 고령화 사회에 대응하는 차세대 의료기기로 주목받고 있다.

대구보건대학교와 ㈜GL은 지난해 7월 치매 커뮤니티케어 분야 전문인재 양성을 위한 업무협약을 체결한 이후, VR 기반 인지훈련 콘텐츠를 활용한 교육·실습 모델을 공동으로 설계해 왔다. 이번 기증을 계기로 해당 시스템은 학생 교육과 임상 실증은 물론, 디지털 헬스케어 전문 인재 양성에도 폭넓게 활용될 예정이다.

남성희 대구보건대학교 총장은 “이번 기증은 환자에게는 최상의 인지건강 서비스를 제공하고, 학생들에게는 디지털 헬스케어를 현장에서 직접 배우는 실질적인 교육 기회가 될 것”이라며 “대학과 병원, 기업이 협력해 지역에 정주하며 성장하는 보건의료 인재 양성이라는 공동 목표를 지속적으로 실현해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

The donated "Mentee Tree," designated as Innovative Medical Device No. 53 by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, is a cognitive function training system that combines virtual reality (VR), hand tracking, brainwave measurement, and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. This digital solution for dementia prevention and cognitive health management is attracting attention as a next-generation medical device to address the aging population.

Since signing a business agreement in July of last year to cultivate professionals in the field of dementia community care, Daegu Health College and GL Co., Ltd. have been jointly designing an educational and practical model utilizing VR-based cognitive training content. With this donation, the system will be widely utilized not only for student education and clinical trials, but also to cultivate digital healthcare professionals.
