대구보건대학교는 지난 1일부터 3일까지 대구 엑스코 서관 1·2홀에서 열린 이번 행사에서 ‘한달빛글로컬보건연합대학’ 부스를 운영하며 교육·산업 연계 성과를 소개했다고 밝혔다. 행사는 대구광역시가 주최하고 한국안광학산업진흥원이 주관했다.

대학은 ‘글로컬대학30’ 프로젝트의 일환으로 치과(Dental), 안경(Optical), 재활·의료(Medical)를 기반으로 한 ‘DOM Complex 헬스테크 특화센터’ 구축을 추진 중이다. 이번 전시에서는 안경 분야를 중심으로 연합대학 협력 모델과 실무 중심 교육 성과를 집중적으로 선보였다.

부스는 3개 연합대학 안경광학과 소개와 함께 ‘스마트 아이웨어 체험관’으로 구성돼 관람객들이 미래 안경산업과 교육 콘텐츠를 직접 체험할 수 있도록 했다. 또한 대학은 RISE 사업의 일환으로 지역 7개 안경 산업체의 부스 운영을 지원하며 지역 산업과의 연계도 강화했다.

행사 기간 동안 ‘2차 AX·DX 기반 안경산업 발전 포럼’과 ‘DIOPS 안경디자인 개발 포럼’이 개최돼 최신 기술 동향과 AI 기반 디자인 확장 가능성 등이 논의되며 업계와 학생들의 관심을 모았다.

특히 2일에는 대구금호워터폴리스클러스터협의회 장용찬 회장(팬텀옵티칼 대표)이 안경광학과 학생들을 위해 장학금 200만 원을 전달하며 인재 양성에 힘을 보탰다.

이석재 헬스테크특화센터장(방사선학과 교수)은 “이번 전시는 대학의 안경 분야 특화 전략을 산업 현장과 공유한 의미 있는 자리였다”며 “앞으로도 지역 안경산업체와 협력을 확대해 실질적인 성과 창출로 이어지도록 지원을 강화하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Daegu Health College Showcases Health Tech Capabilities at ‘Daegu International Optical Show’… Strengthening Industry-Academic Cooperation

The Health Tech Specialization Center of Daegu Health College (President Nam Seong-hee) participated in the ‘2026 Daegu International Optical Show (DIOPS)’ to showcase its specialized capabilities in the eyewear industry.

Daegu Health College announced that it operated a booth for the ‘Handalbit Glocal Health Alliance College’ at the event, held from the 1st to the 3rd at Halls 1 and 2 of the West Wing of EXCO Daegu, introducing its achievements in education-industry linkage. The event was hosted by Daegu Metropolitan City and organized by the Korea Optical Industry Promotion Agency.

As part of the ‘Glocal College 30’ project, the college is pursuing the establishment of the ‘DOM Complex Health Tech Specialization Center,’ based on Dentistry, Optical, and Rehabilitation/Medical fields. At this exhibition, the college intensively showcased its alliance college cooperation model and practical, hands-on educational achievements, focusing on the eyewear sector.

The booth featured an introduction to the Optometry departments of the three consortium universities and was organized into a ‘Smart Eyewear Experience Hall,’ allowing visitors to directly experience the future eyewear industry and educational content. Additionally, as part of the RISE project, the university supported the operation of booths by seven local eyewear companies, strengthening ties with the local industry.

During the event, the ‘2nd AX·DX-based Eyewear Industry Development Forum’ and the ‘DIOPS Eyewear Design Development Forum’ were held, attracting the attention of both the industry and students as they discussed the latest technological trends and the potential for expanding AI-based design.

Notably, on the 2nd, Jang Yong-chan, Chairman of the Daegu Kumho Waterpolis Cluster Council (CEO of Phantom Optical), contributed to talent development by presenting a scholarship of 2 million won to students in the Department of Optometry.

Lee Seok-jae, Director of the Health Tech Specialization Center (Professor of Radiology), stated, “This exhibition was a meaningful occasion to share the university’s specialized strategies for the eyewear sector with the industrial field,” adding, “We will continue to expand cooperation with local eyewear companies and strengthen our support to ensure tangible results are achieved.”
