보건계열은 국가면허 기반 직무 구조로 인해 취업 안정성이 높은 분야로 꼽힌다. 졸업 이후 장기적인 취업 준비가 필요한 일반 직무와 달리, 국가시험 합격 여부가 곧바로 취업 가능성을 결정하는 구조가 뚜렷하다. 이 때문에 국가고시 성과는 대학의 교육 역량과 취업 경쟁력을 가늠하는 핵심 지표로 작용한다.

간호사, 임상병리사, 방사선사, 치과기공사, 치과위생사, 물리치료사, 작업치료사, 언어재활사 등 다수의 보건계열 직무는 국가면허 또는 자격 취득이 필수다. 면허 취득은 공식적인 전문성 인증이자 취업의 출발선으로 기능한다.
