대구보건대학교는 대구광역시교육청이 주관하는 ‘2026학년도 학업중단 숙려제 외부 위탁 프로그램 운영기관’으로 선정됐다고 26일 밝혔다.
학업중단 숙려제 외부 위탁 프로그램은 중·고등학교 학업중단 위기 학생을 대상으로 대학 및 전문기관의 인프라를 활용해 진로 탐색과 정서 지원을 제공하고, 학업 지속 의지를 높이기 위한 사업이다.
프로그램은 오는 4월 6일부터 12월 8일까지 운영되며, 회차별 10명 이하 소규모로 진행돼 학생 개개인의 특성과 관심을 반영한 맞춤형 교육이 이뤄진다. 최근 5년간 누적 참여 인원은 146명에 달하며, 지난해에는 참여 학생 중 2명이 대구보건대학교에 진학하는 성과도 나타났다.
교육은 학생상담센터를 중심으로 단계별 실습형 직업체험 프로그램으로 구성된다. 주요 내용은 ▲간호술기·물리치료·임상병리 검사 등 보건·의료 분야 ▲화재 진압 및 응급처치 실습 등 안전·소방 분야 ▲헤어·피부·네일·바리스타 체험 등 뷰티·서비스 분야 ▲CSI 범죄수사 체험 등 과학·수사 분야 등이다.
또한 전임교수 지도와 대학생 멘토 참여를 통해 안전하고 체계적인 실습 환경을 제공하고, 상담과 체험을 병행해 학생들이 자신의 적성과 진로를 스스로 탐색할 수 있도록 지원한다.
권용현 학생취업처장은 “실습 중심 교육과 전문 상담을 통해 학업중단 위기 학생들에게 새로운 동기를 부여하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 직업체험 기회를 제공해 학생들이 진로를 구체화하고 학업으로 이어갈 수 있도록 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
