【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구보건대학교(총장 남성희)는 30일 오전 11시 창의관 2211호에서 ‘DHC 이른둥이 발달센터’ 현판식 및 개소식을 개최하고 본격적인 운영에 들어갔다.

이날 행사에는 남성희 총장을 비롯해 최수열 대구 북구의회 의장, 이소림 북구의원, 이영숙 북구보건소장, 임현균 (사)아동운동과학기술연구회장 등 내외빈 20여 명이 참석해 센터 개소를 축하했다. 개소식은 고주연 센터장의 운영 계획 발표와 이른둥이 프로그램 참여 사례 발표 순으로 진행됐다.

이른둥이는 임신 37주 미만이거나 출생 체중 2.5㎏ 미만으로 태어난 영아를 의미하며, 면역체계와 장기 발달이 미성숙해 영유아기부터 체계적인 관리가 요구된다. 이번에 문을 연 ‘DHC 이른둥이 발달센터’는 증가하는 이른둥이 발달 지원 수요에 대응해 조기 중재와 맞춤형 발달 관리 서비스를 제공하기 위해 설립됐다.

대구보건대학교는 2016년부터 온·오프라인을 통해 대구를 포함한 전국 단위의 이른둥이 발달 지원 사업을 추진하며 관련 분야 전문성을 축적해 왔다. 이를 기반으로 지역사회 중심의 통합 지원 체계를 강화한다는 방침이다.

센터는 0세부터 6세까지 이른둥이를 대상으로 놀이 중심의 맞춤형 코칭과 부모 교육 프로그램을 운영한다. 운동발달 전문가가 아동의 발달 상태를 평가한 뒤 부모와 함께하는 1대1 코칭을 제공하며, 부모 대상 소그룹 프로그램 ‘이른둥이맘 모임’을 통해 발달 이해와 양육 정보를 공유할 수 있도록 지원한다.

남성희 총장은 “이른둥이는 초기부터 세심한 발달 관리가 필요한 만큼 조기 개입과 지속적인 지원이 중요하다”며 “DHC 이른둥이 발달센터가 지역을 넘어 아이와 가족이 함께 건강하게 성장할 수 있는 든든한 지원 기반이 되도록 대학의 역량을 집중하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Daegu Health College (President Nam Seong-hee) held a plaque unveiling and opening ceremony for the ‘DHC Premature Baby Development Center’ at Room 2211 of the Creative Building at 11:00 AM on the 30th, officially commencing operations.

Approximately 20 guests, including President Nam Seong-hee, Daegu Buk-gu Council Chairman Choi Su-yeol, Buk-gu Council Member Lee So-rim, Buk-gu Public Health Center Director Lee Young-sook, and Lim Hyun-kyun, President of the Korea Association of Child Exercise Science and Technology, attended the event to celebrate the center's opening. The ceremony proceeded with a presentation of the operational plan by Center Director Go Ju-yeon, followed by case studies of participation in the premature baby program.

Premature babies refer to infants born before 37 weeks of gestation or weighing less than 2.5 kg at birth. Due to their immature immune systems and organ development, they require systematic management starting from infancy. The newly opened ‘DHC Premature Baby Development Center’ was established to provide early intervention and customized developmental management services in response to the growing demand for developmental support for premature babies.

Since 2016, Daegu Health University has been accumulating expertise in the field by promoting developmental support projects for premature babies nationwide, including Daegu, through both online and offline channels. Based on this foundation, the university plans to strengthen a community-centered integrated support system.

The center operates play-based customized coaching and parent education programs for premature babies aged 0 to 6. Motor development experts evaluate the child's developmental status and provide one-on-one coaching with the parents. Additionally, the center supports parents in sharing developmental understanding and parenting information through the small group program for parents, the ‘Premature Baby Moms’ Gathering.’

President Nam Seong-hee stated, “Since premature babies require meticulous developmental management from the very beginning, early intervention and continuous support are crucial.” She added, “We will concentrate the university’s capabilities to ensure the DHC Premature Baby Development Center becomes a reliable support foundation that extends beyond the local region, enabling children and families to grow healthily together.”
