이번 보고회는 ‘시민과 함께하는 혁신, 새 희망 구미’라는 시정 방향에 맞춰 ▲시민중심 품격도시 ▲일상여행 낭만도시 ▲세대포용 정주도시 ▲AI선도 성장도시 등 4대 비전을 실제 정책과 사업으로 구체화하기 위해 마련됐다.

특히 기존의 부서별 사업 나열식 보고에서 벗어나, 부서별 혁신 프로젝트와 주요 현안 중심의 보고 방식을 도입했다. 이를 위해 지난해 현장소통 시장실 ‘우리동네 온(溫)데이’를 통해 수렴한 시민 의견과 지역별 현안을 분석하고, 국정 방향 및 도비 연계 가능성 등을 종합 검토해 정책의 실효성을 높였다.

구미시는 ‘시민이 체감하는 행정’을 시정 운영의 최우선 가치로 삼고, 일상생활의 불편을 해소하고 삶의 질을 높이는 정책 추진에 행정 역량을 집중할 방침이다. 쓰레기 수거 체계 개선, 도로 응급복구 시스템 고도화, 대중교통 체계 개선 등을 통해 시민이 체감할 수 있는 쾌적하고 안전한 도시환경 조성에 나선다.

미래 성장동력 확보를 위한 AI 기반 산업 전환도 핵심 과제로 제시됐다. 구미시는 지난 1월 AI 전담 태스크포스(TF)팀을 구성하고, 전통 제조산업 전반에 AI를 접목하는 ‘AI 제조산업도시 구미’로의 전환을 본격화한다. 이를 통해 AX 핵심 인프라 구축과 소재·부품·장비 산업 경쟁력 강화를 추진하고, 반도체·방산 등 국가 전략산업의 핵심 거점도시로 도약한다는 계획이다.

모든 세대가 살기 좋은 세대포용 정주도시 조성에도 힘을 쏟는다. 아이돌봄 지원 확대와 달빛어린이병원, 심야약국 운영을 통해 아이 키우기 좋은 환경을 조성하고, 2030 여성 참여단 운영, 청년 주거 지원, 구미 영스퀘어 활성화 등을 통해 청년과 여성의 사회 참여 기반을 확대할 계획이다. 또한 50+센터 운영과 강동노인종합복지관 건립을 통해 중장년과 노년층을 위한 생애주기별 맞춤형 지원 체계를 구축한다.

농업 분야에서는 역대 최대 규모로 편성된 농업 예산을 바탕으로 미래 농업 육성과 푸드테크 연구지원센터 유치에 나선다. 가공·유통·기술이 결합된 농업 혁신을 통해 경쟁력 있는 농업도시로 도약하고, 청년농 정착 지원을 통해 지속 가능한 농업 생태계 조성에 힘쓸 방침이다.

이와 함께 신공항 배후도시 조성, 구미~신공항 철도 건설, 구미~군위 간 고속도로 조기 착공 등 광역 교통망 구축을 통해 신공항 연계 핵심 거점도시로서의 경쟁력을 강화할 계획이다.
