【브레이크뉴스 구미】이성현 기자=구미시는 26일 국회에서 지역구 국회의원인 구자근·강명구 의원과 김장호 시장을 비롯한 시 간부 공무원 등 30여 명이 참석한 가운데 지역 주요 현안 해결과 국비 확보를 위한 간담회를 개최했다.
이번 간담회는 지난 2월 6일 열린 ‘2027년 국가투자예산 확보 전략보고회’에서 발굴된 핵심 사업을 정부 예산안에 실질적으로 반영하기 위해 국회 차원의 협력 체계를 강화하고자 마련됐다.
구미시는 정부의 ‘5극 3특’ 초광역 협력 전략과 지방시대 구현 기조에 선제적으로 대응해 반도체·방위산업·AI 제조 등 미래 첨단산업 육성과 사회간접자본(SOC) 확충 방안을 집중 논의했다.
주요 현안으로는 ▲구미~신공항 철도 및 동구미역 신설을 통한 광역교통망 확충 ▲반도체 소재·부품 콤플렉스 구축과 방위산업 소재·부품·장비 특화단지 유치 ▲대한민국 역사박물관 유치 및 낙동강 수변레저파크 조성 ▲대도시 기준 완화 및 구미 경제자유구역 지정 등이 제시됐다.
주요 국비 건의 사업으로는 ▲AI·방산 특화 공유공장 구축 ▲국립 AI 미래인재교육관 건립 ▲지역 주력 중소기업형 인공지능 데이터 가공 지원 ▲AX 자율제조 사이버융합보안 실증 지원 ▲구미~군위 간 고속도로 건설 ▲1~3산단 연결교량 신설 ▲탄소중립 선도도시 조성 ▲도개지구 풍수해생활권 종합정비사업 등이 논의됐다.
이날 참석한 국회의원들은 “논의된 사업들은 구미의 미래를 좌우할 핵심 과제”라며 “정부 예산안 편성 단계부터 국회 심의 최종 단계까지 전 과정에서 긴밀히 소통해 주요 사업이 반영될 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
김장호 시장은 “이번 간담회는 구미시 주요 사업을 구체적 성과로 연결하기 위한 실행의 출발점”이라며 “지역구 국회의원과 ‘원팀(One-Team)’ 협력 체계를 구축해 구미 재도약을 견인할 미래 예산 확보에 행정 역량을 집중하겠다”고 말했다.

The National Assembly members in attendance stated, "The projects discussed are key tasks that will determine Gumi's future. We will actively support the implementation of these key projects by maintaining close communication throughout the entire process, from the government budget preparation stage to the final National Assembly deliberation." Mayor Kim Jang-ho stated, "This meeting is the starting point for implementing Gumi City's key projects into tangible results. We will focus our administrative capabilities on securing the future budget that will drive Gumi's next leap forward by establishing a 'One-Team' cooperative system with local National Assembly members."
