예천군에 따르면 지난 27일부터 진행된 사전경기는 도내 시·군 선수단 1,000여 명이 참가한 가운데 31일 골프 종목을 끝으로 마무리됐다. 이번 사전경기에서 예천군은 농구 일반부 2위, 고등부 3위를 기록했으며, 궁도와 골프에서도 준수한 성적을 거두며 본경기에 대한 기대감을 높였다.

대회는 4월 3일 경북도청 새마을광장에서 개막식을 시작으로 나흘간 진행된다. 예천군에서는 배구, 배드민턴, 소프트테니스, 씨름, 육상, 축구, 탁구 등 7개 종목이 열리며, 지역 전반에 체육 축제 분위기가 확산될 것으로 보인다.
