예천군은 4월 3일 성화 채화 및 봉송 행사를 열고 본격적인 대회 일정의 시작을 알렸다. 이번 체전은 역사상 처음으로 공동 개최되는 만큼, 화합의 의미를 담아 성화 채화도 다원화해 진행됐다.

성화는 토함산을 비롯해 개심사지, 임청각 등 3개 지역에서 각각 채화된 뒤 주요 구간을 따라 봉송됐다.

예천군은 성화 봉송단을 12개 읍·면 주민대표 60명으로 구성하고, 주자 12개 구간과 차량 2개 구간 등 총 14개 구간에 걸쳐 봉송을 진행했다. 성화는 예천읍 원도심과 경북도청 신도시 주요 구간을 지나며 군민들의 환영 속에 이어졌다.

3개 시·군에서 출발한 성화는 천년숲에서 하나로 합쳐진 뒤 개막식이 열리는 성화대에 점화되며 도민 화합의 상징으로 자리했다.

예천군 관계자는 “이번 체전이 도민이 하나 되는 화합의 장이 되길 바란다”며 “안전하고 성공적인 대회 운영을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The torch passed through key areas of the original downtown of Yecheon-eup and the new Gyeongbuk Provincial Government City, continuing amidst a welcoming reception from the county residents.

The torches, originating from three cities and counties, merged into one at Cheonnyeon Forest before being lit at the cauldron where the opening ceremony was held, establishing themselves as a symbol of unity among the residents.
