대구광역시와 산업은행, 기업은행, 국민은행, 하나은행, 신한은행, 우리은행, 농협은행 및 대구은행은 21일 산격청사에서 ‘대구경북신공항 건설 및 종전부지 개발사업(이하 본사업)의 성공적 추진을 위한 업무협약’을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 

본 협약을 통해 대구시는 사업계획 수립과 시행과정에 필요한 행정지원을, 금융기관은 금융투자자로서 특수목적법인(SPC)에의 출자를 위한 노력을 하게 된다. 

이번 협약에는 2대 국책은행(산업은행, 기업은행)과 5대 메이저 은행(국민은행, 하나은행, 신한은행, 우리은행, 농협은행), 그리고 시중은행으로 전환을 앞두고 있는 지역 대표은행인 대구은행이 참여함으로써 역대 최대규모의 기부대양여 사업의 재원 조달에 청신호로 작용할 것으로 전망된다.

홍준표 대구광역시장은 “지난해 TK신공항 특별법 제정으로 정부가 사업의 안정성을 담보했고, 8대 주력 금융기관과 업무협약까지 체결하게 됨으로써 원활한 자금조달과 속도감 있는 사업추진이 가능하게 됐다”며 “TK신공항 건설사업은 민간과 군 공항을 동시에 이전하는 대한민국 최초이자, 최대규모의 사업인 만큼 ’29년 조기 개항을 목표로 총력을 다해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
