경북도에 따르면 이번 회의는 지난 1월 대한상공회의소에서 APEC CEO Summit 민간추진위원회가 출범함에 따라 지방정부 차원에서도 경제인 행사 준비를 위해 신속하게 대응하고, 도청 내 관련 부서 간 협의 강화를 위해 마련했다.

이날 회의에서는 정상회의 기간 중 개최되는 대한상공회의소 주관 주요 경제인 행사인 ▴최고경영자회의(CEO Summit) ▴기업인자문위원회(ABAC) 회의 ▴APEC 정상과 기업인자문위원회(ABAC) 간 대화에서 회의장 및 오·만찬 장소, 숙박, 교통‧수송 등 경상북도가 지원 및 협력해야 할 상황을 점검했다.

또한, 경제 APEC 추진을 위한 경상북도 핵심 사업으로, 대한민국 미래 첨단기술을 선보이는 쇼케이스인 ‘2025 APEC 경제 전시장’에 대기업 참여 제안, 도내 중견‧중소기업 발굴 방안을 심도 있게 논의하고, 글로벌 기업의 CEO 초청 및 경북상공회의소협의회 등 도내 관련 기관, 중견‧중소기업과의 연계 방안을 모색했다.

이 외에도 정상회의 기간 전 2025년 APEC 정상회의 사전 붐업 홍보를 위해 개최되는 경제행사인 ▴한-APEC 비즈니스 파트너십 ▴APEC 연계 투자환경설명회 ▴경상북도 투자유치대회 ▴2025 경북 국제포럼 등의 추진 상황을 보고하고, 향후 계획을 공유했다.

경북도는 2025년 APEC 정상회의를 ‘경제 APEC’으로 추진하기 위해 다양한 경제행사를 준비해, 대한민국을‘원조를 받던 최빈국’에서 ‘도움을 주는 나라’로서 세계 10위권 경제 대국이 되게 한 새마을운동의 발상지이자 대한민국 전자‧반도체, 철강, 원전 등 대한민국 산업의 성장과 발전의 중심축인 경상북도를 알린다.

또한, 전국 최고의 투자 인프라와 오랜 투자유치 노하우로 다져진 성공의 DNA를 공유해 역대 최대 세일즈 코리아의 현장 및 글로벌 번영을 위한 기회의 장으로 만들 계획이다.

양금희 경상북도 경제부지사는 “성공적인 APEC 정상회의 개최 준비를 위해 도정의 모든 역량을 결집해 각 분야에서 최선의 노력을 다하고 있지만, 특히 APEC 정상회의는 경제 협력 회의인 만큼 경제 분야의 담당 부서 간 긴밀하게 소통하고, 공유해야 한다”며 “중앙정부 및 대한상공회의소, 대한무역투자진흥공사(KOTRA) 등 관계 기관과 협력해 2025년 APEC 정상회의를 통해 초일류 대한민국 경제산업 발전상을 전 세계에 알리고, 대한민국 경제가 한 단계 도약하는 계기로 삼겠다”고 밝혔다.
