이번 간담회는 국립경국대 글로컬대학 핵심 과제인 ‘공공형대학’의 성공적 추진과 대학-공공기관 간 협력 방안 마련을 위해 개최됐다. 이날 자리에는 황명석 부지사와 정태주 총장을 비롯해 경북개발공사, 경북연구원, 경북테크노파크 등 13개 공공기관장이 참석했다.

간담회는 ▲공공형대학 추진 현황 ▲대학-공공기관 협력방안 ▲종합 토론 순으로 진행됐다. 먼저 K-ER협업센터는 공공형대학의 개념과 역할, 협력사업 발굴 및 선정 절차 등을 설명하며 추진 현황을 공유했다. 이어 도는 기존 협력사업 성과를 분석하고 향후 추진 방향을 제시했다.

이후 황명석 부지사 주재로 진행된 토론에서는 인재 양성에서 취·창업, 지역 정주로 이어지는 선순환 구조 구축이 핵심이라는 데 공감대가 형성됐다. 참석자들은 공공형대학의 실질적 성과를 위해 대학과 공공기관 간 긴밀한 협력이 필요하다는 데 뜻을 모았다.

한편 국립경국대는 ‘경북 발전을 선도할 K-인문 세계 중심 공공형대학’ 비전을 바탕으로 2023년 교육부 글로컬대학에 지정됐으며, 공공형대학과 인문혁명, 지역상생 등 100여 개 과제를 추진 중이다.

황명석 부지사는 “공공형대학은 글로컬대학 사업의 핵심 과제”라며 “대학과 공공기관이 함께 협력해 성공 모델을 만들어야 한다”고 강조했다. 이어 “경상북도도 이를 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
