경북도는 지난해 9월 제정된 ‘경북·경남·울산 초대형산불 특별법’을 근거로 규제완화 권한을 활용해 산업 기반이 취약한 산불 피해지역 5개 시·군에 관광·레저·스마트농업 등 산업 거점을 조성하고 민간투자를 유치할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

도는 이를 위해 양금희 경제부지사를 중심으로 경제혁신추진단과 투자유치단을 ‘산림투자선도지구 민간투자 전담팀’으로 운영하며 후보사업 발굴과 투자 유치 활동을 진행해 왔다.

현재까지 발굴된 주요 후보사업은 ▲청송 산림레저타운 ▲안동 호텔·리조트 ▲안동·영덕 바이오차 열병합발전소 ▲안동·의성·영양 농공단지 수직농장 및 스마트팜 ▲영양 신재생에너지 발전단지 등이다.

경북도는 이들 사업에 대해 전문가 컨설팅을 통해 사업성, 자금조달 능력 등 실현 가능성을 종합 평가한 뒤, 검증된 사업을 ‘1호 사업’으로 선정해 우선 추진할 방침이다. 1호 사업은 2026년 상반기 내 선정하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.
