홍 전 시장은 또, 국민의힘의 일방적인 단일화 움직임 등에 반발해 김문수 후보가 자신을 찾아온다면 “(당연히) 만날 것”이라고 덧붙였다. 

홍 전 시장은 모 언론과의 통화에서 국민의힘이 후보들에게 경선비용으로 거둬들인 금액만 약 50억 원 가량 될 것으로 예측했다. 그는 “후보를 교체하려거든 경선 비용을 모두 변상한 뒤 교체해야 한다”며 "당헌당규에 의해 선출된 후보를 교체하는 절차는 본인이 사퇴하지 않고서는 그런 규정은 없다"고 후보 교체는 원천적으로 이뤄질 수 없는 사안이라 주장했다. 

그러면서 홍 전 시장은 “당무우선권은 대선 후보의 전권”이라며 “당무우선권으로 김 후보는 지금의 비대위를 해체할 권리도 지니고 있다”고 말했다. 그는 윤 전 대통령을 향해서는 "백배사죄하고 은거하라"며 "더 이상 당무에 개입하지 말라"고도 했다. 한덕수 뒤에 윤석열이 있다는 의심이다.

이에 대하여 권성동 원내대표는 "비대위는 전당대회 수임기구인 전국위원회 의결을 거쳐서 결정된다. 때문에 누가 당 대표 후보가 되든 비대위를 해체할 권한은  없다. 당원당규에 대한 이해 부족에서 나온 말씀으로 본다"고 말했다.

In a phone call with a media outlet, former Mayor Hong estimated that the amount collected by the People Power Party from the candidates as primary costs would amount to approximately 5 billion won. He said, “If you want to replace a candidate, you must compensate all primary costs before replacing them,” and “There is no such provision for replacing a candidate selected according to the party constitution and regulations unless the candidate himself resigns,” arguing that replacing a candidate is fundamentally impossible.

In the meantime, former Mayor Hong said, “The priority of party affairs is the full authority of the presidential candidate,” and “Candidate Kim also has the right to disband the current emergency committee due to the priority of party affairs.” He also told former President Yoon, “Apologize profusely and go into hiding,” and “Do not interfere with party affairs any longer.” There is a suspicion that Yoon Seok-yeol is behind Han Deok-soo.

In response, floor leader Kwon Seong-dong said, “The emergency committee is decided through a resolution by the National Committee, which is the organization in charge of the national convention. Therefore, whoever becomes the party leader candidate does not have the authority to disband the emergency committee. I think this is a statement made due to a lack of understanding of the party rules.”
