【브레이크뉴스 경북 】박영재 기자=경주 APEC이 20여일 앞으로 다가온 가운데 김민석 국무총리의 경주 방문이 잦아지고 있다. 지난 10일 김 총리는 취임후 6번째 경주를 방문했다.  

이철우 경상북도지사도 이날 김 총리와 함께 행사 관련 시설을 점검하고, APEC 준비지원단, 경찰, 소방 공무원 등 근무 인력을 격려했다.

이날도 김 총리는 이철우 경상북도지사, 주낙영 경주시장 등과 함께 직원을 격려한 후 정상 숙소 PRS와 정상회의장인 화백컨벤션센터를 점검했다. 또, 동국대 경주병원을 찾아 응급의료센터와 VIP 전용 병동을 둘러보면서 APEC 응급의료 준비 상황에 대한 보고를 받았다.

경상북도 APEC 준비지원단 사무실을 방문한 김 총리는 지원단 직원을 비롯하여, 소방, 경찰 등 그동안 현장에서 APEC 준비를 위해 노력해 준 직원들을 격려하고, 20여 일 남은 정상회의가 성공적으로 개최될 수 있도록 마지막까지 수고해 달라고 당부했다. 특히 추석 연휴에도 행사 준비를 위해 애쓴 직원들에게 감사의 뜻을 표했다. 

직원을 격려하는 간담회 이후 김 총리와 이철우 지사 등 일행은 PRS 숙소와 정상회의장 준비 상황을 점검한 뒤 했다.

이후 동국대 병원으로 자리를 옮긴 김민석 총리 일행은 리모델링을 마친 응급의료센터와 VIP 병동을 둘러보고, 류현욱 APEC CMO(의료총괄책임자)로부터 APEC 준비 상황 보고를 청취했다. 

류현욱 CMO는 “333명의 의료 인력으로 구성된 의료지원단, 3개의 현장진료소, 56대의 구급차, 5대의 이송 헬기, 29개의 협력병원 네크워트 등 완벽한 의료지원 체계를 구축했다”며 “9월 29일 응급환자 헬기 이송 훈련 등 최고 수준의 현장 대응체계와 협업시스템을 유지하고 있는 만큼 정상회의 기간 최상의 의료지원 서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

김민석 총리는 “APEC의 실제 성패를 좌우하는 것은 현장에서 얼마나 꼼꼼하게 총체적으로 점검하느냐에 달렸다”면서“인프라, 행사장, 숙소, 서비스, 경호, 안전, 음식 등 모든 분야의 세심한 부분까지 선제적, 능동적, 자발적으로 점검해달라”고 강조했다. 

이철우 경상북도 지사는 “총리님의 6차례에 걸친 현장 방문과 지속적인 관심으로 APEC에 대한 국민적 관심이 높아지고 있다”며“총리님의 격려로 현장에서 일하는 직원들이 행사가 끝나는 순간까지 더욱 힘을 낼 수 있을 것 같다”며 감사를 전했다. 

이어 “정상회의장, 미디어센터 등 인프라 골격 공사가 마무리되었고, 추석 연휴에도 내부 인테리어와 신축건물 환기 등을 진행한 만큼, 내부 인테리어 등을 조속히 완료하고, 사전 테스트를 거쳐완벽한 시설을 선보일 예정”이라며“경상북도에서는 이미 1,000 여개의 체크리스트를 마련해 현장점검을 실시하고 있다. 마지막까지 긴장을 놓지 않고, 더 꼼꼼하고 세밀히 살펴서 참가자들에게 감동을 주고 미래세대에 희망을 남기도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다

CMO Ryu Hyun-wook stated, "We have established a complete medical support system, including a medical support team of 333 medical personnel, three field clinics, 56 ambulances, five transport helicopters, and a network of 29 partner hospitals." He added, "We maintain a top-notch on-site response system and collaborative system, including the emergency patient helicopter transport training on September 29th. We will do our best to provide the best medical support services during the summit."

Prime Minister Kim Min-seok emphasized, "The success or failure of APEC depends on how thoroughly and comprehensively we conduct on-site inspections.
