【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경상북도의회는 12월 19일 제359회 제2차 정례회를 폐회하고, 한 해 의정활동을 되돌아보는 2025년도 송년회를 개최했다.
2025년은 제12대 경상북도의회가 후반기 의정활동을 이어가며 보다 성숙한 의정 역량을 바탕으로 민생 중심 정책 대응과 지역 현안 해결에 집중한 해로 평가된다. 특히 2025 경주 APEC 정상회의의 성공적 개최를 위해 정부 지원 건의, 국회 결의안 통과, 현지 인프라 점검 등 다각적인 의정활동을 전개하며 경상북도의 국제적 위상 제고에 기여했다.
또 초대형 산불 발생 시에는 산불대책특별위원회를 구성·운영하고, 국회와 협력해 '경북·경남·울산 초대형산불 피해구제 및 지원을 위한 특별법' 제정을 이끌어내며 재난 대응을 위한 제도적 전환점을 마련했다.
이날 송년회에는 박성만 의장을 비롯한 도의원들과 이철우 경상북도지사, 임종식 경상북도교육감, 경북도청과 경북교육청 간부 공무원들이 참석해 한 해 동안의 노고를 격려했다. 우수한 의정활동을 펼친 의원들에 대한 시상도 함께 진행됐다.
아울러 경상북도의회는 여의도정책연구원이 주최한 ‘2025 대한민국 지방자치평가 연계 의정정책대상’에서 광역의회 부문 최우수의정단체로 선정되며, 정책 중심의 책임 있는 의정활동 성과를 대외적으로 인정받았다.
박성만 의장은 “2025년은 경북도의회가 현장과 제도를 잇는 가교로서의 역할을 분명히 한 한 해였다”며 “APEC 성공 개최 지원과 산불 특별법 제정은 도민의 안전과 지역의 미래를 지키기 위한 치열한 의정활동의 결과”라고 밝혔다. 이어 “새해에도 도민의 삶 속으로 더 깊이 들어가 민생을 지키는 의회, 신뢰받는 의회가 되도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
