【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경상북도의회 의원연구단체인 '경상북도 지역연계 관광 활성화 연구회'(대표 연규식 의원)가 지난 9일 오전 11시 경북도청 동부청사에서 ‘경상북도 지역연계 관광 활성화 방안 연구용역’ 중간보고회를 개최했다.

이번 보고회는 도내 관광자원의 연계 활성화를 통해 시·군 간 협력 기반을 강화하고, 지속 가능한 관광산업 발전 방향을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.

연구회 대표인 연규식 의원은 “이번 연구를 통해 경상북도 관광 정책의 체계적 개선과 지속 가능한 관광 관리 기반을 마련하고, 미래형 관광산업 생태계 구축에 기여할 것으로 기대한다”며 “시·군 간 중복 투자를 방지하고 협력체계를 강화해 정책 실효성을 높이겠다”고 밝혔다.

연구용역 책임을 맡은 홍순기 경북연구원 부연구위원은 “도내 22개 시·군의 관광 인프라와 빅데이터 기반 관광객 이동 패턴을 종합적으로 분석해 지역연계 관광의 수용 태세를 정밀 진단하고, 권역별 특화 연계 관광 콘텐츠를 제시하겠다”고 설명했다.

이날 보고회에 참석한 의원들은 다양한 정책 제언을 내놓았다. 김희수 의원은 철도·도로 등 교통 SOC 확충과 관광객 수요에 맞는 차별화된 관광상품 개발 필요성을 강조했으며, 정경민 의원은 관광객 동선 변화에 대응한 신규 관광 거점 설정과 연계형 패키지 상품 개발의 중요성을 언급했다.

김재준 의원은 경북 울진에서 충남 태안까지 연결되는 동서트레일을 지역연계 관광의 핵심 축으로 활용할 것을 제안했고, 이동업 의원은 지자체 간 분절된 행정 구조로 인한 관광사업 연계 한계를 지적하며 기존 관광자원의 다각적 활용과 민간 참여 확대 필요성을 강조했다.

한편 '경상북도 지역연계 관광 활성화 연구회'는 연규식 대표의원을 비롯해 김재준, 김희수, 이동업, 정경민, 황재철 의원 등 총 6명으로 구성돼 있으며, 지역 간 관광 연계 실행계획 수립과 구체적인 정책 방안 마련을 통해 경북 관광산업의 지속 가능한 발전 기반 구축에 주력하고 있다.

The ‘Gyeongsangbuk-do Research Group on Regional Tourism Revitalization’ (Representative: Council Member Yeon Gyu-sik), a research group of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council, held an interim report meeting on the ‘Research Service on Measures to Revitalize Regional Tourism in Gyeongsangbuk-do’ at 11:00 AM on the 9th at the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Government Eastern Office.

This meeting was organized to strengthen the foundation for cooperation between cities and counties by revitalizing the linkage of tourism resources within the province, and to explore directions for the sustainable development of the tourism industry.

Council Member Yeon Gyu-sik, the representative of the research group, stated, “Through this research, we expect to contribute to the systematic improvement of Gyeongsangbuk-do’s tourism policies, the establishment of a foundation for sustainable tourism management, and the construction of a future-oriented tourism industry ecosystem.” He added, “We will enhance policy effectiveness by preventing duplicate investments among cities and counties and strengthening the cooperation system.”

Hong Soon-ki, an associate research fellow at the Gyeongbuk Research Institute in charge of the research project, explained, “We will comprehensively analyze the tourism infrastructure of the province’s 22 cities and counties and tourist movement patterns based on big data to precisely diagnose the readiness for regionally linked tourism and present specialized linked tourism content for each region.”

The assembly members attending the briefing session put forward various policy recommendations. Assemblyman Kim Hee-soo emphasized the need to expand transportation infrastructure, such as railways and roads, and to develop differentiated tourism products tailored to tourist demand. Assemblyman Jeong Gyeong-min mentioned the importance of establishing new tourism hubs and developing linked package products to respond to changes in tourist routes.

Assemblyman Kim Jae-jun proposed utilizing the East-West Trail, connecting Uljin in North Gyeongsang Province to Taean in South Chungcheong Province, as a core axis for regionally linked tourism. Assemblyman Lee Dong-eop pointed out the limitations in linking tourism businesses caused by fragmented administrative structures among local governments and emphasized the need for the multifaceted utilization of existing tourism resources and increased private sector participation.

Meanwhile, the 'Gyeongsangbuk-do Regional Tourism Activation Research Group' is composed of a total of six members, including Representative Yeon Gyu-sik, as well as Representatives Kim Jae-jun, Kim Hee-su, Lee Dong-eop, Jeong Gyeong-min, and Hwang Jae-cheol, and is focusing on building a foundation for the sustainable development of the Gyeongbuk tourism industry by establishing implementation plans for inter-regional tourism linkage and devising specific policy measures.
