이번 임시회는 오는 지방선거를 앞두고 열리는 회기로, 제12대 경상북도의회의 마지막 도정질문과 함께 2025회계연도 결산검사위원 선임, 각종 민생 조례안 처리 등이 주요 안건으로 다뤄질 예정이다.

18일 열리는 제1차 본회의에서는 임병하 의원(영주), 이동업 의원(포항), 박채아 의원(경산)이 올해 첫 도정질문에 나서며, 동시에 제12대 도의회의 마지막 도정질문을 진행한다.

임병하 의원은 영주 첨단베어링 국가산업단지 조성, 지방도 935호선, 지역 전문인력 양성 등을 질의하고, 이동업 의원은 철강산업 위기 대응과 복합해양레저관광도시 조성, 도시가스 요금, 형산강 준설 문제 등을 다룰 예정이다. 박채아 의원은 장애인 의무고용부담금 활용, 육아 친화 환경 조성, 미등록 이주아동의 산업인력 연계 방안 등을 중심으로 정책 대안을 제시할 계획이다. 해당 도정질문은 TV 방송을 통해 생중계된다.

아울러 도의회는 경상북도와 경상북도교육청의 2025회계연도 결산검사를 위해 박채아, 최병근(김천), 박규탁(비례) 의원 등 도의원 3명과 세무사·회계사 등 민간 전문가를 포함한 총 10명의 결산검사위원을 선임할 예정이다.

제2차 본회의는 4월 1일 열리며, 5분 자유발언을 시작으로 각종 민생 조례안 등 주요 안건을 처리한 뒤 임시회를 마무리한다.

박성만 의장은 개회사를 통해 “제12대 도의회가 마무리 단계에 접어든 만큼 끝까지 책임 있는 의정활동으로 유종의 미를 거둬달라”고 당부했다.

이어 최근 중동 정세 불안에 따른 물가 상승 등 민생경제 위기를 언급하며 “서민과 소상공인, 중소기업 보호를 위한 선제적 대응이 필요하다”고 강조했다. 또한 도청 신도시 조성 10주년을 맞아 자족형 복합도시로의 발전을 위한 실질적 로드맵 수립과 행정 통합 과정의 성숙한 대응을 주문했다.
