30일 울진군에 따르면 이번 접종은 안전한 겨울나기를 위해 11월 21일부터 12월 18일까지 동절기 접종 집중 기간에 군민의 예방접종을 독려하는 차원에서 진행됐다.

코로나19 동절기 예방접종은 감염예방 효과가 더 높은 오미크론 변이에 대응하여 개발된 2가백신(모더나/화이자BA.1, 화이자BA4/5)으로 진행된다.

추가로 확대된 동절기 접종 대상자는 만 18세 이상 기초접종(2차 접종) 완료자로 마지막 접종일로부터 3개월(90일)이 경과한 시점부터 접종 가능하다. 또한, 최근 코로나19에 확진된 경우 격리기간이 종료되고 급성기 증상이 회복된 후 접종이 가능하다.

코로나19 동절기 예방접종은 당일 접종 및 사전예약이 가능하며 혼자 예약이 어려운 어르신들은 신분증을 지참해 보건소 및 읍·면사무소에 방문하면 예약 지원을 받을 수 있다.

손병복 울진군수는“이번 코로나19 동절기 접종 확대는 동절기 유행의 정점 이전에 울진군민의 일상을 유지하고 건강을 지키는데 큰 도움이 될 것이다”며 “따라서 접종대상자들은 적극적으로 예방접종에 참여해주시길 바라며, 아울러 기초접종 미완료자의 경우 접종을 적극 권고하오니 많은 참여 부탁드린다”라고 말했다.
