대구시는 1월 말경 오미크론의 우세종 우려에 따른 확산세 급증에 대비해 ‘대구시 오미크론 의료대응전략 긴급회의’를 오는 20일 개최한다고 밝혔다.

대구지역에는 지난해 12월 20일 해외유입 확진자로부터 최초 오미크론 변이가 검출된 이후 어린이집과 유치원 등을 중심으로 지역감염 집단발생 사례가 발생했다.

최근에는 어린이집, 종교시설, 체육시설, 학원, 지인모임 등 다수의 신규 집단발생이 계속되고 있고, 변이바이러스 분석결과 오미크론 검출률이 급증하고 있다.

12월 5주차(12.26~1.1)에는 오미크론 검출률이 13.0%였으나, 불과 2주만인 1월 2주차(1.9~1.15)에는 23.8%에 이르는 등 전파력이 기존 델타변이보다 2~3배 높은 오미크론의 우세종화가 1월 중으로 예상되고 있다.

특히 다가오는 설 연휴를 맞아 가족·친지 모임과 이동량 증가가 예상되는 가운데 설 연휴를 기점으로 사람 간 접촉 증가와 오미크론의 높은 전파력으로 확산세가 더욱 증가할 것으로 예상되고 있다.

이에 대구시는 오미크론 변이의 우세종화로 인한 확진자 급증에 대비해 방역과 의료대응체계를 전면 점검하고 의료대응 전략을 전문가들과 함께 모색하고자, 의사회, 약사회, 상급종합병원 등 감염병전담병원 책임보직자, 총괄방역대책단 자문교수, 보건소장, 시청 공무원 등이 함께하는 의료대응전략 회의를 긴급 개최해 오미크론 대응에 만전을 기하고자 한다.

먼저, 오미크론 확산에 따른 방역정책과 대구시 의료체계 역할에 대한 전문가의 제안과 함께 의료자원 활용 효율화 방안, 재택치료 단계별 확대방안, 코로나19 환자진료 및 관리내실화 방안 등에 대해 현장관계자의 의견을 듣고 개선방안 등을 논의해 확진자 급증에 따른 단계별 상황에 만반의 대응 준비를 하고자 한다. 

이영희 대구시 시민건강국장은 “지역 의료대응체계 전문가들과 함께 방역의료대응 전략을 재점검하고, 현장의 목소리를 행정에 반영할 수 있는 소중한 자리가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다”며 “대구시는 전문가들의 소중한 의견을 수렴해 오미크론변이 확산 대응전략 수립에 만전을 기하겠다”고 밝혔다.
