【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자=계명대학교 동산병원(병원장 박남희)은 소아외과 정은영 교수팀이 대구·경북 최초로 다빈치 로봇 수술 시스템을 이용한 성인 탈장수술을 성공했다고 25일 밝혔다.
로봇탈장수술은 자유롭게 움직이는 로봇 관절을 이용해 기존 복강경 수술시 한계가 있던 움직임의 정확도를 더욱 높여준다.
특히 3D 광학카메라로 신경 분지 하나까지 자세하게 관찰할 수 있어 수술시 환자들의 신경손상 가능성을 최소화하는 등 가장 정확한 수술을 할 수 있는 방법이다.
정은영 교수는 탈장수술의 풍부한 경험을 바탕으로 현재까지 복강경 탈장수술을 약 3,000례 가량 시행했으며, 최근 미국과 유럽을 중심으로 성장하고 있는 로봇 탈장수술을 최초로 도입했다.
또 소아 탈장 분야에서도 10년 전부터 복강경 수술을 도입했고 세계 최초로 ‘복강경 복막외 결찰술’을 개발하여 미국내시경복강경학회지에 발표하는 등 현재 국내 유일하게 활발히 이 수술법을 시행하고 있다.
정은영 교수는 “탈장 수술을 받은 환자들은 여러 형태로 급성 및 만성 통증을 호소하는 경우가 많다. 이러한 이유로 좀 더 정확한 수술 방법을 고민하던 중 최신 수술법인 로봇 수술의 장점을 성인 탈장 수술에 적용하게 되었다”고 말했다.
